Bangladesh Cement Manufacturers Association (BCMA) is the National trade Organization of manufacturers and exporters of Portland Composite Cement (PCC) and Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) in Bangladesh.
The Registration no. of the association is C- 433 (10)/1998 and it was registered in 1998. The T.O License no. is 26/98 and the year of license is 1998. Currently, 31 cement manufacturing companies are the members of the BCMA, which is run by a 10-member Executive Committee, headed by the president.
The Executive Director works as the Head of Secretariat. BCMA is audited by MABS & J Partners.
To involve in activities relating to imports, exports of raw materials, spares and finished products for the collective benefits of the Association members.
To protect the Interest of the sector.
To promote & develop the Market for Cement.
Since its inception in 1998, BCMA has been playing a vital role in developing the cement sector in the country to promote access to affordable cement.
Closely working with the industry and regulatory authorities the association promotes understanding of good manufacturing practices and rightful implementation to ensure the quality of cement.

OBJECTIVES OF BCMA
EVENTS
* To involve in activities relating to imports, exports of raw materials, spares and finished products for the collective benefits of the Association members.
* To protect the interest of the sector. To promote & develop the cement market.
* To support & develop the Sector.
* To enhance the capacity building of the sector.
* To raise awareness on basic rights and business principles.
* To introduce international standards in cement sector of Bangladesh.
* To frame sector friendly policy in consultation with the government.
* To coordinating between BCMA members, the government and other agencies.
* To look after the betterment of cement products user.
* To work with the government and the ministries to solve problems and obtain equitable laws regarding cement manufacturing distribution and uses in Bangladesh.
* To promote the highest standard of business ethics, integrity and professionalism between and among the members of the association and others.
* To establish and promote contacts with foreign countries and international or foreign organizations and develop relations with them in order to enhance trade, distribution and manufacture of cement in Bangladesh.
* To make representation to the government public bodies, organization and other authorities on behalf of the members of the association for redress of their genuine grievances and for meeting the legitimate demands of members of the association and cement trade and industry in general.
* To promote, protect and safeguard the interest of all the member of the association who are manufacturers, distributors, merchants, importers or exporters, dealers or retailers, persons or organizations directly or indirectly connected with cement sector in Bangladesh.
* To promote and maintain the highest standard of unity and cooperation among the members of the association in the conduct of the business carried on by them.
* To subscribe & become member of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry and to produce and furnish to any organization of trade industry in Bangladesh or foreign country such information as may be conductive to the attainment of the objective of the association.
* To collect, maintain, distribute or supply all data, statistics and other information necessary for the promotion and advancement of cement production and uses in Bangladesh through letters, circulars, periodicals or through press and other publicity media and to obtain or develop informational books, brochures, visual aids and educational items for members and to distribute them on a pro data, to profit or no loss basis.
* To raise or borrow funds or secure the payment of money for promotion of the objectives of the association and for meeting financial obligations and to create mortgage or charge on the property or assets of the association in securing such loans and advances.
* To elect officers, appoint staff, agents, managers, secretaries, contractors and establish agencies and branches of the association in any place within Bangladesh whatsoever.
* To represent and act as the members of the association before all ministries, department or agencies of the govt. and before all types of public and private, national and international organizations and agencies whose activities affect the manufacture, distribution, transportation, trade and uses of cement/clinker and to nominate its representative(s) for such organizations if required.
* To contribute to the progress and advancement in every lawful manner and do all lawful acts to promote the welfare of the members of the association.
* To accept any gifts, donation or subscription towards any fund or endowment and to establish and support institutions or trust calculated to benefit the members of the association, its employees, ex-employees or their dependent and to grant gratuities, pensions and allowances and to subscribe donate or grant money for the promotion of use, research; sustainable growth in cement production or for charitable or benevolent objects or for public in general or useful objects.
* And generally, to do all such act of things as may be necessary from time to time in connection with the affairs of the association or for the attainment of the above objects or any to them.

EVENTS
Since its inception in 1998, BCMA has been playing vital role in developing the cement sector in the country to promote access to affordable cement.
Closely working with the industry and regulatory authorities the association promotes understanding of good manufacturing practices and rightful implementation to ensure quality of cement.
It actively negotiates with the government and other relevant authorities to protect the interests of the industry eventually for the larger benefit of the common people.
BCMA has been participating actively in pre-budget discussion meeting with the National Board of Revenue to protect the interest of cement manufacturing industries form unwanted tax policy.
It is also trying to increase sales locally and internationally.
BCMA is organizing meeting time to time to exchange views with all the member, related to cement manufacturing and marketing.
To ensure better quality of cement, BCMA visits different cement manufacturing industry time to time to collect sample and send it to testing laboratory to verify quality.
BCMA is trying to set up its own testing laboratory in Dhaka city to test cement.
Time to time BCMA organizes press conference to exchange views with press and electronic media regarding cement sector in Bangladesh.
Bangladesh Cement Manufacturers association as a leading trade organization and representative of all cement producing industry, try to create a business environment supportive of industry in order to develop the Bangladeshi economy for the benefit of the members of BCMA.

Philanthropist and prominent industrial entrepreneur, Mr. Mostafa Kamal, son of late Al-Haj Noor Miah, was born in a humble Muslim family in Chouddagram, Cumilla in the year 1955.
After completing his bachelor’s degree in 1976, Mr. Mostafa Kamal dipped his toes in the commodity trading business under the banner of “Kamal Trading Company” and achieved great success within a short period of time.

Philanthropist and prominent industrial entrepreneur, Mr. Mostafa Kamal, son of late Al-Haj Noor Miah, was born in a humble Muslim family in Chouddagram, Cumilla in the year 1955. After completing his bachelor’s degree in 1976, Mr. Mostafa Kamal dipped his toes in the commodity trading business under the banner of “Kamal Trading Company” and achieved great success within a short period of time. The profit made in that exercise enabled him to pursue his dream as an entrepreneur.
Mr. Mostafa Kamal used to import commodities from abroad in limited scale and marketed them in the local markets. But he was not happy with the cost and standards of imported commodities. In the year 1989, he had taken endeavor for setting up industries and subsequently became a successful and leading entrepreneur of the country by establishing Meghna Vegetable Oil Industries Ltd.
Since then Meghna Group of Industries has been setting up at least one factory every year producing and marketing various fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) & commodities such as bottled drinking water, sugar, edible oil, salt, tissue, paper, seed crushing, fish and poultry feed, chemical, cement, power plant, other bulk and industrial products under the brand name of ‘Fresh’, ‘Meghnacem Deluxe’, ‘No.1’, etc. Moreover, the group has shipbuilding dockyard, shipping, securities, general insurance, media, aviation and several other businesses. The group is pioneer in the private sector for establishing economic zones in Bangladesh.
Mr. Mostafa Kamal is also engaged in various voluntary social welfare activities to uplift the socio-economic condition and uphold the cause of humanity in the society. He has been holding prestigious positions in various business arena as well as social welfare organizations. He is recognized as the Honorary Consulate of The Republic of Korea. Many hospitals including Central Hospital Limited, The Barakah General Hospital are sponsored by Mr. Mostafa Kamal. He also patrons many schools, colleges, and madrasahs including Al-Haj Noor Miah Degree College, Mostafa Kamal High School, Al-Haj Ayesha Noor Welfare Foundation, Kankapaith Madrasah, Al-Haj Ayesha Mohila Madrasah, etc. He is also the founder and member of the Board of Governors, The People's University of Bangladesh and Foundation for People's Education. He has also received various awards, recognition and accolades for his outstanding contribution to industrial development of Bangladesh.

Mr. Ahmed Akbar Sobhan was the Chairman/President of many financial institutions, Trade organizations and trade bodies including Bangladesh Paper Mills Association, Bangladesh Land Developers Association, Bangladesh Cement Manufacturers Association, etc. He was also a member of the general body of FBCCI, DCCI, ICC and currently serving as the Chairman, Ondine Committee or REHAB.
He received many accolades, at home and abroad, in recognition of his excellent Business leadership, performance and remarkable contributions in the socio-economic fields, international understanding, conflict resolution and bringing peace, including President's Gold Medal in 1994, Kazi Nazrul Islam National Award in 1992, Moulana Bhasani National Award in 1993, Arthakantha Business Award in 2001, USA Summit International Award in 2002 and Janata Bank Prime Customer Award in 2002 and Agrani Bank Best Client Award in 2010, Mother Teresa International Canonisation. Award in 2019, Kolkata's St Xavier's College Prestigious Award Dashabhuja Bengali 2019, Information Communication Entertainment (ICA) Award in 2019 given by the Bengal Film and Television Chamber of Commerce, Franchise India organized Indian Retail Award and Indian E-Retail Award 2019. He was a sportsman and now a sponsor of sports of this country. He is the owner of Bashundhara Kings, a leading Sports Club in Bangladesh.
He is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Bashundhara Foundation and the Chief Patron of Afroza Begum Welfare Foundation. These Foundations have been working tirelessly for the betterment of the poor and unprivileged people of this country. These two foundations have been living up to Bashundhara Group's promise of "For the People for the Country’.
